Carbon stock determination in five predominant species of primary forest in the Cristo Redentor property, Tres Unidos - Picota district. Forests play a fundamental role in fixing and capturing carbon, as well as in the reduction of CO2, which is one of the main greenhouse gases, thus mitigating the effect of climate change; moreover, primary forests have a greater capacity to capture carbon than other types of forests, which is why it is important to conserve and protect them. The general objective was to "Determine the carbon stock in five predominant species of primary forest in the Cristo Redentor property, Tres Unidos - Picota district". The project was carried out in the primary forest of the Cristo Redentor farm, located in the district of Tres Unidos, province of Picota and department of San Martin. The execution period was 10 months starting on 01/03/2022. The population consisted in 25 ha and the sample was 10 000 m2 (1 ha) distributed in 5 plots of 40 x 50 m (2 000 m2) and the research design was descriptive. The identification and measurement of tree species with DBH ≥ 30 cm in the 40 x 50 m plots and tree species with DBH ≥ 10 cm in the 20 x 20 m plots was carried out using a calliper and a data collection sheet where the species and their respective DBH were recorded. Indicators of floristic diversity such as species richness, Shannon-Wiener, Simpson and Jaccard index, abundance, frequency, dominance and the importance value index were also determined. also, the non-destructive method and allometric equations were applied to estimate the tree biomass and carbon stored; descriptive statistics were used to process and analyze the data with programs such as Excel, SPSS Statisstics and PAST 3. 5. A total of 170 individuals were identified, belonging to 16 species and 11 families, the Shannon-Wiener and Simpson diversity was high and the species with the highest abundance, frequency, dominance and importance value index were: Capirona, Estoraque, Mahogany, Ishpingo and Cedar. Likewise, the species with the highest tree biomass was Capirona (63.96 t/ha) and the Fabaceae family (68.14 t/ha), whose contribution from one hectare of primary forest was 232.48 t/ha of tree biomass. Finally, Capirona (31.98 t C/ha) and Fabaceae (34.07 t C/ha) were the species and family that stored the greatest amount of carbon, with an average of 116.24 t C/ha of carbon per hectare of primary forest. It was concluded that the five predominant species with the highest carbon stock were: Calycophyllum spruceanum "Capirona", followed by Myroxylon balsamum "Estoraque", Swietenia macrophylla "Caoba", Amburana cearensis "Ishpingo" and Cedrela odorata "Cedro", which together store 73.10% of the total carbon in the primary forest Cristo Redentor.
