In this study we sought to determine the difference in academic self-efficacy between students who study-work and those who only study. The research was of a substantive type with a descriptive-comparative design. The participants were 128 university students from the Administration study program, aged between 18 and 30 years. The Inventory of Academic Self-Efficacy Expectations was used as standardized instruments for the evaluation of the construct. The results showed evidence that there are no statistically significant differences (p > .05) between the groups compared with regard to academic efficacy, that is, that there is no prevalence of the variable in either of the two populations compared. Therefore, the fact of working and studying does not affect the perception that students have about their own abilities
