Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand and manage the feelings of oneself and others. On the other hand, Behavioral Adaptation is the process by which a person modify their behavior to fit their environment. Therefore, the relationship of these variables can be crucial given that Emotional Intelligence has a direct and positive impact on the adaptation capacity of secondary school students. This research has as a general objective to determine the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Behavioral Adaptation. The type of research was descriptive - correlational with the participation of two groups. We worked with a sample of 550 adolescents between men (59.1%) and women (40.9%) with ages between 12 to 17 years old, students from the first grade to fifth grade secondary of high school, all from the educational institutions of Metropolitan Lima, to whom the BarOn-Ice instrument adapted by Nelly Guarris’ y Pajares and the Behavioral Adaptation Inventory adapted by César Ruiz were applied. For the application of the study, the instruments were applied in a face-to-face modality within the Educational Institutions during class hours.
