ABSTRACT The objective of this report is to evaluate the consumption of antibiotics dispensed in a private pharmaceutical establishment in the La Esperanza-Trujillo district, from March 15, 2021 to March 15, 2022. The evaluation was made based on its spectrum of activity antibacterial, its pharmacological action and the cost of each of them. Obtaining data from the Visual Farma computer system of the pharmaceutical establishment, which were expressed in terms of defined daily dose (DDD) per 1000 visits per day. The results obtained were: The most dispensed antibiotic was azithromycin with 2.89 DDD/1000 visits/day, according to its spectrum of antibacterial activity, broad-spectrum antibiotics were the most dispensed with 76.9% of the total, according to their pharmacological action. bactericidal antibiotics were the most dispensed with 57.5% of the total antibiotics, likewise it was determined that the month of January was where the most antibiotics were dispensed, according to their pharmacological group, beta- lactam antibiotics were the most dispensed with 28.9% of the total. total, depending on the type of medication; generic antibiotics were the most dispensed with 63% of the total. The total cost of antibiotics was also determined, which was 194,902.35 soles, with azithromycin being the antibiotic that demanded the greatest economic cost with 31,790.7 soles, which represents 16.3% of the total cost of antibiotics.
