ABSTRACT The objective of this document is to present the results obtained from the determination of glycemia in people over 18 years of age from the “Santa Rosa” market, Vista Alegre sector; Victor Larco Herrera District. September 2021, 42 people of both sexes participated, for which before extracting the blood samples they were interviewed, respectively. Blood samples were analyzed by the enzymatic method in serum or plasma, taking the spectrophotometer sample to read at 505nm. The normal glucose value is 70-110 mg / dL. The results obtained showed that 61.90% of the population have serum glycemia values within normal values, 26.18% have hyperglycemia and 11.90% have hypoglycemia. Finally, for the analysis of the results, the Chi square method (X2) was used where glycemia levels were related to BMI, age group and gender, obtaining the following relationship: X2 c <X2 t by what is accepted the hypothesis: Ho; that is, to say that there is no significant difference (for, alpha = 0.1) between the BMI values and blood glucose levels. It was confirmed that there is association or dependence of variables; the variables BMI, Age Group and Gender; they follow, a normal distribution with respect to the level of glycemia (sample).
