ABSTRACT Knowledge of the management tools that contribute to the implementation of the system will allow for an adequate adaptation of the requirements and will improve efficiency in the process. The objectives set out in this research are to determine the tools that contribute to the implementation of ISO 50001 in agroindustries worldwide, to determine the published research related to the application and/or use of tools that contributed to the implementation of ISO 50001, determine the sectors where the methodologies that support the implementation of said standard have been used and descriptive statistics of the tools were carried out, classifying them by their application, economic sector and from lowest to highest with respect to their use, for this purpose the search, selection, review and analysis of the literature. The methodology used was a systematic review of the literature, using primary sources of information extracted from different databases such as Sciencedirect (41%), Proquest (31%) and Scopus (28%), performing a bibliometric analysis with words search keys also considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. Subsequently, those articles that provide substantial information on the tools that have been used in the implementation of an EnMS in different economic sectors such as the textile, wood, milling and industrial sectors have been selected. Finally, the analysis of the information obtained was carried out to highlight those tools that have been most used and have provided better results. The analysis carried out demonstrates that there are various tools that can contribute significantly to the implementation of the ISO 50001 standard, allowing a diagnosis of the current circumstance of the organization to be carried out, defining the factors or parts of the processes to improve, to subsequently achieve the energy efficiency that helps the company compete in the market. One of the most prominent tools with 26% are the tools used in Lean Manufacturing (LM), such as 5S and visualizing (visual workplace), Standardized work, Poka Yoke (error correction), Total Productive Maintenance, Single Minute Exchange of Die IX (SMED), Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Right-Sizing Team. Likewise, tools such as instruments for measuring the level of maturity (17%), Indicators (14%), Software Systems (11%) and neural networks (9%) stand out. The energy efficiency that organizations seek to achieve brings with it significant benefits both in costs, by reducing energy consumption and better conserving equipment, and in reducing the environmental impact that is generated. Therefore, this research provides key information about the tools that have provided the best results when implementing an EnMS.
