The general objective of this study was to determine the influence of ambient lighting on the visual health of workers in a printing plant in the city of Trujillo. The study population consisted of 10 workers who work both in the morning and in the afternoon. The grid methodology was applied to locate the measurement points; the illumination data were obtained with a SPER luxmeter, which had its respective calibration certificate. From the measurements obtained, it was determined that 80% of the evaluated areas of the printing plant did not comply with the minimum lighting levels established by national regulation No. 375-2008-TR. Also, by means of visual acuity tests, it was determined that 80% of workers suffered from asthenopia. To prove that lighting influences the visual health of workers in a printing plant, Shapiro Wilk and Chi-square tests were applied and it was determined that there was a significant dependence between the variables lighting and visual health. The results obtained allowed concluding that there is a strong relationship between lighting and visual health of workers in a printing plant.
