ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of a gluconeogenic on the feed conversion of pigs, a commercial cross Duroc-Pietrain in growth and fattening. The study was carried out at the “Don Juan” farm, located in the Chao District, Virú Province, La Libertad Department. The experimental units were selected from six dams, distributed in a completely randomized block design (DBCA) where the blocking factor is sex (females and males) with three treatments and five repetitions. 60 weaned piglets of the same age were evaluated. The treatments were: T1: Diet with 4.0 Kg / t / gluconeogenic product, T2: 4.5 Kg / t / gluconeogenic product and T3 control or control: without inclusion of gluconeogenic product, these diets were supplied for six weeks. The food conversion variable (C.A) was evaluated and when performing the statistical analysis, the control and the treatments with inclusion of the gluconeogenic product showed significant statistical differences (p <0.05). According to the results obtained, it is concluded that the diet with 4.5 Kg / t / of gluconeogenic product contributed to a better feed conversion.
