The main objective of the present study was to establish ferritin levels in children diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia and to find the relationship with epidemiological factors. For this, minors between 0 and 10 years of age who attended the Santa Rosa health center, Chepén, 2022 were sampled. Microhematocrit samples were taken from the children to determine anemia, and those with low hemoglobin were taken venous blood samples, to obtain serum and determine ferritin. Regarding the results, it was obtained that the prevalence of anemia in children from 0 to 10 years old who attended the Santa Rosa health center (Chepén) is 39.2%. In addition, the prevalence of mild anemia is 93.46% and moderate anemia is 6.54%. Likewise, the prevalence of iron deficiency anemia according to sex, in the female gender was higher (61.68%) than the male (38.32%). The age group most affected by the prevalence of iron deficiency anemia was 1 year (44.86%) and 2 years (18.69%). It is concluded that there is a significant number of minors with iron deficiency anemia, which is an important public health issue to be attended to by the competent authorities, in addition, new research should be carried out to identify the factors associated with this type of anemia, in order to implement prevention and control programs.
