ABSTRACT The present research, whose study is qualitative and quantitative, aims to explain the influence of pregnancy and / or motherhood on the academic performance of the students of the Professional School of Social Work, as well as the factors that motivate them to continue their studies and the main difficulties that are presented to them, for this there was a population of 14 students who are mothers of families and one who is pregnant. The information was obtained by collecting all the necessary information, which allowed establishing the existing relationship between the intervening variables; using the methods: deductive - inductive, descriptive, analytical, qualitative, ethnographic or phenomenological and statistical. As well as the following techniques were used: Observation, in-depth interview, survey and bibliographic compilation. The report is presented in three chapters: Introduction, materials and methods and presentation and discussion of results. Thus, showing that there are two factors (intrinsic and extrinsic) that motivate them to fulfill in the best way the double role of surrogate and / or mother and university student, of these, the intrinsic one that makes them set themselves the final goal of completing their career professional in order to achieve better living conditions for both themselves and their minor children.
