The present research work: Time in "El Túnel" by Ernesto Sábato according to the narratological approach of Gérard Genette; aims to explain and analyze the use of the time variable within the narrative of Sábato under the principles proposed by Gérard Genette. In this study, the hermeneutic method and the descriptive design have been used to achieve the goals set. Being the narrative technique and the instruments used in the collection of information: technical glossaries, bibliographic records, theses and publications. Carrying out an analysis of textual and bibliographical sources, in addition to the interpretation of the information: bibliographical. Likewise, Ernesto Sábato makes use of a rather confused and hesitant protagonist narrator, plays with the order of events, constantly advancing and returning to the events of the framework story. Being the results: The narratological analysis, of the order in the time of the story, showed a great difference in relation to the time of the story. The narratological analysis, according to Gérard Genette, of the rhythm or duration of the story's time shows a preference of the narrator to temporarily slow down the development of the frame story, making excessive use of descriptions, periphrases, comments and circumlocutions, through the figure of the pause, in order to prolong the time of the story and convey the idea of loneliness that defines the main narrator. And the narratological analysis, according to Gérard Genette, of the frequency of the time of the story shows the majority use of the repetitive story, closely followed by the iterative story, while the anaphoric story, although present, is less frequent. The most relevant conclusion that was obtained was the non-linear vision of time through the memories of the main character of "The Tunnel", in which he explains the development so that the murder of his partner is triggered.
