The water balance and water quality of harvested and processed rain, is presented in the town Yahuahua, Nieva, Condorcanqui, Amazonas, for the research period 2018 - 2019, on the information collected rain daily was recorded in two rain gauges, monthly rainwater was harvested and the water demand for an average family (6 people) was assessed, using a collection, storage and treatment system. The calculation of the volume of water harvested and the volume of the storage tank has been done using the methodology and recommendations of OPS and CEPIS. Water demand was calculated for one family per month, according to OPS and the volume of the tank was determined by water balance, according to RM-192-2018-SA. This water balance was vital to determine if the supply meets the demand for rainwater, since the shortage of drinking water is one of the biggest problems affecting the Peruvian jungle. The results show a maximum harvest (1,44 - 2,88 m 3 ) and daily average (0,29-0,55 m 3 ) of rainwater, which satisfies the daily normative demand of 0,18 m 3 for a family, during the entire investigation period, being the largest storage volume found in the month of June, with 1 167 liters. The rainwater processed by the prototype complies with the regulation of water quality for human consumption DS - 031-2010-SA.
