Bacteriophages are viruses that infect bacteria, including pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli, a ubiquitous bacterium that can also be found in the natural microbiota of humans and/or cause damage and pathologies, as in the case of airway infections. Urinary tract in both men and women. Faced with this, bacteriophages are a possible solution to reduce or eliminate this pathogenic bacterium, which in many cases is highly resistant to different antibiotics and, over time, becomes a serious public health problem. In the present study, six antibiotic-resistant Escherichia coli bacteria were isolated from patients with positive urine cultures, and we isolated three types of bacteriophages from sewage drains from the Biocells Dx Clinical Laboratory from which phage three was isolated; and from the drain of Hospital II Essalud Huaraz from which we isolated Phages -1 and Phages-2. The characterization of the phages was carried out by means of Temperature, Ph and UV Light. Likewise, the host range was carried out with the six Eschericia coli strains that we were able to find and confront them with the three bacteriophages that were isolated and purified. The present work is a basic investigation that can serve as a basis for future work in this regard, because each geographical area where the different bacteria are located has its own peculiarities and despite being the same pathogenic bacterium, it behaves differently.
