ABSTRACT This thesis: Citizen participation in social organizations and development in the neighborhood territory N ° 33 Pesqueda, Trujillo district, covers a period from September 2020 - June 2021. The purpose of this research is to explain how citizen participation in organizations Through the management and progress committees, they contribute to the development process in the Pesqueda neighborhood, applying social research methods and techniques. Citizen participation is a key element for the population to intervene in public affairs in a constant and responsible manner, thus achieving the development of their own environment through proposals, plans, strategies that aim at a common goal as a community. While it is true, the importance of citizens participating actively is based on continuing to constitute a democratic country, it is also necessary for their needs to be met more effectively, where they become the agents of development in their own environment. For this research, we worked with 4 management and progress committees that had different objectives according to the needs of their sectors, in addition each one of them has particular characteristics that identify and organize them differently. In this research, it shows how the same social organizations, despite many difficulties that may have happened during their management, have been and are the impulse to contribute to local development, seeking in this way to satisfy their needs and contribute to the improvement of their living conditions.
