The objective of the thesis is to determine the different knowledge of the uses, preparations, and applications of herbal medicine to determine the cure or relief of diseases in the Andean communities of the District of Usquil. Following the work methodology to include all adults over 18 years of age, a completely random survey was applied to residents of different communities far from the District of Usquil, considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria so that the collection of information is true. It has been determined that the average age is 54 years whose education levels are at the primary level with 44.8% and illiteracy of 22.9% is between men and women, the predominant activity being being a housewife with 50% and agriculture and livestock. with 29.2% where the predominant sex is female with 55.21%. The population of the communities reported that the use of medicinal plants is of great importance to prevent their diseases, the collection of information from 36 botanical families is evident, the most used are Asteraceae, Lamiaceae and Fabaceae, the active ingredients of these medicinal plants included in these families have relieved and cured their ailments by applying uses of leaves, stems, roots, in different preparations such as infusion, the most administered orally to cure and alleviate diseases or ailments that prevent them from carrying out daily activities of the people who suffer daily in places furthest from the District of Usquil.
