The present work focuses on the determination of the biodegradation ratio of total petroleum hydrocarbons, for which a seawater sample was taken from the watering place Huanchaco - Trujillo and contaminated with diésel-B5, after which we used Pseudomonas sp., said bacterium was acquired by a certified laboratory in order to have the most optimal control in the count and subsequent biodegradation, this degradation will be very helpful for our society that has been contaminated with bilge water and multiple hydrocarbon spills that our biodiversity. The test was applied at concentrations of 10%, 15% and 20% and at temperatures of 25 °C, 35 °C and 45 °C in a microbiological laboratory, resulting in a better rate of biodegradation by Pseudomonas sp. of 70.9%. Concluding that a better biodegradation ratio is achieved at a temperature of 35°C and with a concentration of 20%.
