The present qualitative, exploratory, descriptive research was carried out with the aim of describing and analyzing nursing care from the perspective of the hospitalized elderly amputee. For the theoretical approach, Watson was selected, with the tanspersonal care; harmony between mind / body / soul / nature. Methodology: Data collection was performed through the semi-structured interview. The study sample consisted of 13 elderly patients, determined by speech saturation of both sexes, hospitalized with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus, in their first 7 postoperative days with amputation by diabetic foot. Results: three categories were obtained with their respective subcategories: 1) Care as a transpersonal process: Confidence, conversation, accompaniment and respect for beliefs. 2) The body as the seat of care: Monitor pain and comfort. And 3) Beware of completeness and incompleteness: Helping to make phantom foot loss real, giving time to work out the duel and helping to find meaning in loss. Conclusion: This research made it possible to identify the potentialities of care, to verify the presence of quality and warmth, to rescue experiences and experiences of older adults with a corporal loss, the link between nursing staff ) and the amputated patient who experienced a loss situation
