ABSTRACT The objective of this research work was to determine the effect of the application of the biostimulant on the growth and percentage of sucrose in Saccharum officinarum L. variety RB 72-454. The experiment was carried out in a sugarcane field in Piura, Peru, during a replanting cycle that coincided with the harvest in early 2022. The experimental design was based on Randomized Complete Blocks (DBCA). Four different doses of the biostimulant were applied: 100, 200, 300 and 400 l.ha-1 and a control without application. The main stem length (m), stem thickness (cm), number of stems, sugarcane yield and sucrose yield in t.ha-1 were evaluated. The results of the application of the biostimulant showed significant differences in both sugarcane yield and sucrose yield. Treatment T4 (400 l.ha-1) and T3 (300 l.ha-1) showed the highest sugarcane yields: 135.4 t.ha-1 and 131.8 t.ha-1 respectively. As for sucrose yield, treatment T4 (400 t.ha-1, reached the maximum value of 12.58%. Therefore, it is concluded that the foliar application of the biostimulant at the doses of 300 l.ha-1 and 400 l.ha-1 of the biostimulant improved the growth and sucrose percentage of sugarcane variety RB 72-454.
