The objective of this research work is to determine the incidence of the image reading technique in improving the development of reading and writing in children in early education. Methodologically, the research was based on the quantitative approach and the study design is pre-experimental. We worked with a sample population of 17 5-year-old students. Data collection was carried out using an observation guide. The results of the study show that the level of reading development reached by the students in the pretest is deficient in 52.94%% of the students. The level of writing development reached by the students in the pretest is deficient in 58.82% of the students surveyed. The level of reading development achieved by the students in the post-test is good in 52.94% and regular in 41.18% of the students. The level of writing development achieved by the students in the posttest is good in 47.06% and regular in 47.06% of the students. The scores obtained a priori and a posteriori from applying the image reading technique in the development of reading and writing differ significantly in 5-year-old students. In general, the research concludes that the image reading technique has a significant impact on improving the development of reading and writing.
