Objective: to identify the knowledge, attitudes and traditional use of the flour of the rhizome Dracontium loretense krause (Jergón sacha) as a therapeutic activity against HIV in the inhabitants of the province of Tambopata 2022. Material and methods: observational, descriptive and cross-sectional, technique: survey and questionnaire as an instrument, with a reliability level of 95%. Population and sample: we worked with an accessible population of 420 inhabitants with a specific sample of 200 respondents. Results: of the women, 54% (65) have HIV and are aware of the levels of infection, 51% (40) do not have the disease and are not informed; of the men 51% (54) have HIV. Of the population that present HIV and know the benefits of the flour of the rhizome Dracontium loretense krause (Jergón sacha) they would like to consume. Conclusions: the majority of the inhabitants of the Tambopata province have inadequate and insufficient knowledge about the use of the flour of the rhizome Dracontium loretense krause (Jergón sacha) as a stimulant of the immune response against the first symptoms of HIV. In addition, erroneous attitudes regarding this practice are observed.
