This work details the development and implementation of an advanced Excel macro designed to optimize the management of data from reports generated by the AutoCAD Plant 3D database. The main objective of this macro is to filter and organize the information to create a deliverable that meets the strict formatting standards required by various mining clients. Initially, data is extracted from the P&ID diagrams in AutoCAD Plant 3D, which are exported to a detailed and precise report. The Excel macro processes this report, applying filters and organizing the data according to the specific criteria of the mining client. The result is a structured document that can be sent for final client review. A notable feature of this macro is its bidirectional data editing capability. Users can modify the data directly in the Excel-generated deliverable, and these changes are automatically reflected in the original AutoCAD Plant 3D report. This functionality ensures that any updates made in the final document are efficiently synchronized with the initial database, allowing for subsequent import and data updates in the P&ID diagrams in AutoCAD Plant 3D. The implementation of this macro not only improves the accuracy and consistency of the data but also significantly reduces the time and effort required for managing information between Excel and AutoCAD Plant 3D. Additionally, it ensures secure and consistent data transmission, resistant to potential human errors and changes in project requirements.
