The present study aims to analyze the operational problems faced by Nexa Resources Perú S.A.A., a leading company in the production of zinc and copper in Latin America. These problems focus on the management and distribution of Purchase Requests (PR's) to the Operations Purchasing area, where inefficiencies in the classification and prioritization of urgent requests have caused delays in the delivery of materials and services. To address this issue, a process framework is proposed that encompasses the critical phases of handling PR's, from their receipt to their final execution, utilizing theoretical frameworks such as Agency Theory, Transaction Cost Theory, and operations management models. In order to propose effective solutions, three alternatives will be evaluated: the implementation of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, the use of Big Data technologies, and process auditing. Finally, it was determined that the first alternative is the most suitable for optimizing the management of orders at Nexa Resources. Its implementation is fundamental to improving key aspects of management and promoting greater operational efficiency, which will enable better future savings and a more effective utilization of the available resources.
