The present investigation titled “Locus of control and its relationship with work performance in the administrative staff of the Regional Hospital of Loreto. 2020”. It was made by Juana del Pilar Perea de Chong Its main objective was to verify if the locus of control is significantly related to higher or lower job performance in the administrative staff of the Regional Hospital of Loreto. 2020. The type of research assumed was descriptive - explanatory, the level of the research was correlational, the research design was non-experimental, the focus of the study was quantitative and the cut-off was cross-sectional. The research sample consisted of 64 people belonging to the administrative staff of the aforementioned hospital center. A "non-probabilistic" sampling of the "criterial or opinion" type was applied since the entire administrative staff of the Regional Hospital of Loreto was chosen for the study. 2020. To measure the Locus of Control, the Rotter's Locus of Control Scale (1996) adapted by Burger (2009), J.M., Personality was applied to the selected sample. Theory and Reserch, Wadsworth, Belmont, California (1996). To measure job performance, the Job Performance SelfAssessment Questionnaire was applied. The instruments, before their application, were previously validated by judges' criteria and their reliability was established using Cronbach's Alpha Test. The results of the study verified the hypotheses raised: 1) People with internal locus of control had an average job performance higher than the average job performance of people with external locus of control and; 2) There is a direct, positive and significant correlation between the internal locus of control and job performance, while the external locus of control has a direct and positive but not significant correlation with job performance. The recommendations of the case were prepared and the respective tables and graphs were presented.
