The present investigation carried out in Iquitos City during 2021, used the passive method of obtaining samples of amount of concentration air particles at a monthly level in 10 control stations belonging to the National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru, located in 04 districts of Iquitos city. Results of monitoring of concentration suspended particles in each station obtained by means of method were compared with the reference value given by the World Health Organization (WHO), 5 Tn/Km2/month. The comparative analysis allows to determine that in 08 stations they exceed the WHO ECAs, 03 sectors are considered “Very critical” for exceeding the WHO value by up to 4 times: IIAP, Participation and Bomberos, 02 “critical sectors”: SENAMHI and SEHINAV (exceed 3 times) and 03 “Slightly Critical” sectors: Serenazgo Belen, Parque Zonal and Huallaga (up to twice what is allowed by the WHO), however, there are 02 sectors with very good air dispersion presented in the Tavara and Huascar stations where show values below the WHO reference value, being 3.6 and 3.4 Tn/Km2/month respectively. At the SENAMHI station, a temporal comparison was made between 2014 (26.14 Tn/Km2/month) and 2021 (12.6 Tn/Km2/month), finding that the concentration values decreased by 50% but are still above the reference value of The OMS. The main source of pollution is the fleet of vehicles and the lack of green areas in the city.
