Introduction: Pregnancy in adolescente is a public health problem in developing countries, expressing a social problem of inequity, in our country it affects with greater prevalence in the jungle región, it is also considered a risk group with the presence of premature newborns. Objective. Identify the characteristics of adolescent mothers with premature newborns treated at the "Felipe Arrióla Iglesias" Hospital on Iquitos - 2020". Methodology. Quantitative type study of descriptive, transversal and retrospective design; the population was made up of all adolescent mothers with premature newborns. Results: Adolescent mothers were aged 17 to 19, attended secondary level of education, carne from marginal urban areas, were in relationships with partners and worked as housewives; they were first-time mothers with an intergenic period of more than 5 years, they were between 34 and 36 weeks of gestational age and had their birth by cesarean section. The risk factors associated with premature birth in adolescent pregnant women were: anemia, pregnancy- induced hypertension, premature rupture of membranes and urinary tract infections, which is the most common pathology.
