Our study carried out corresponds to a quantitative-descriptive investigation in a probabilistic sample of 20 students from Educational Institution No. 601524, Chambira River. The same objective is to determine the predominant levels of environmental awareness of the Secondary Education students of the Educational Institution, located in the Nativa Nueva Unión community, Chambira River, in the district of Urarinas, province of Loreto, Loreto region. The majority of the population of this basin is native to the Urarina ethnic group, the Urarina people are an indigenous nation of the Peruvian Amazon that inhabits territories of the province of Loreto. The research was basic, descriptive level. The sample was made up of 20 students from the 4th and 5th year of secondary school at the Educational Institution. For this, the survey technique was used with its instrument, the questionnaire. It has been determined that the students' cognitive environmental awareness predominates at a good level, which represents 50.00%. Likewise, in reference to the behavioral dimension, although it reaches 60.00% of the total of those evaluated, there is a large percentage of students who have to improve their attitude towards caring for the environment, finding that 15.00% are indifferent, added to 25.00%. % that show little or negative attitude in caring for the environment.
