The type of research carried out was quantitative, descriptive, observational, correlational, prospective and transversal. The sample was made up of 278 adolescents from 1st to 5th grade of secondary school from the Genaro Herrera public educational center in the city of Contamana, Ucayali. The technique used was clinical observation to obtain the CPO-D index and the use of the HANNA Checker HI98103 pH Tester digital peachimeter. The results were that of the adolescents, 74.8% had an acidic salivary pH and 25.2% had a neutral salivary pH. Regarding CPO-D, 14.4% had a very low CPO-D, 10.4% had low, 29.5% had moderate, 27.7% had high and 18% had very high. . Likewise, in adolescents with acidic salivary pH, 23% had a high CPO-D, 21.2% a moderate CPO-D, 15.5% a very high CPO-D, 10.1% a CPO-D very low and 5% a low CPO-D. It is concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between dental caries and salivary pH.
