The objective of the research was to know the influence of the principle of probity on the duty of discretion in the public function in the provincial municipality of Datem del Marañón, San Lorenzo – 2024. The methodology was descriptive; non-experimental design. The population and sample consisted of 55 collaborators. The results indicate that, in the righteousness indicator, regarding discrimination, 62% have never seen discrimination, 29% have ever seen some type of discrimination, 9% have seen it many times; of compliance with the rules, 67% always comply with them, and 33% sometimes do so. In the honesty indicator, referring to the good use of the institution's assets, 67% always make good use of it, 33% sometimes do it; Regarding the good use of equipment, 64% always use it well, 36% sometimes do it. The honesty indicator, about telling the truth, 60% sometimes say it, 40% always say it; Regarding keeping their word, 51% sometimes do so; 49% always comply. In the institutional information indicator; about keeping a reserve, 53% always keep a reserve; 47% sometimes do it; Regarding unnecessary comments, 38% never make it, 31% always do it, and 31% sometimes do it. The indicator of events that occurred, about keeping a reserve of events that occurred, 64% sometimes keep a reserve, 31% always keep a reserve; Regarding making inappropriate comments, 60% sometimes do it, 29% never do it, 11% always do it; in personal information, keep personal information confidential, 58%, always maintain confidentiality, 42%, sometimes maintain confidentiality; Regarding malicious comments, 56% sometimes do it, 38% always do it, and 6% never do it.
