The research is quantitative and quasi-experimental in design. The objective was to investigate the influence of the plasticizing additive CHEMA PLAST 120 D on concrete - cement - sand, made with fine marginal aggregate from the dredging of sand from the Amazon River near the Astoria sector near the city of Iquitos. The fineness modulus of the sand was 1.42, and with the average specific surface area of 75 m2/g. Descriptive and inferential statistics were applied, reaching the following conclusion: For the W/C ratio = 0.58, more advantageous values were obtained for the properties of fresh concrete than for the W/C ratios of 0.60 and 0.62. Thus the corresponding slump for 0%, 0.60%, 0.72% and 0.83% addition of Chema PLast 120 D additive that was achieved was 3 ½”, 7”, 7 ½” and 8 ½”, respectively. The % of trapped air was 5.60, 5.29, 5.11 and 4.83 and the unit weight of concrete was 2100.22, 2107.30, 2111.43 and 2117.79, respectively. The results obtained for compressive strength with the addition of 0.83% of CHEMA PLAST 120 D additive and the W/C ratio: 0.58 were 235kg/cm2 and 273kg/cm at 7 and 28 days, respectively.
