Introduction: CKD is a progressive disease that requires replacement therapy mainly through hemodialysis, which is an invasive procedure, in which the presence of different complications has been described, which we wish to determine in the present study. Objective: To determine the complications of patients on hemodialysis in a level III hospital in the city of Iquitos between 2019 - 2020 Methodology: The present study is observational, cross-sectional, retrospective, in which the virtual records and unique hemodialysis files of 86 patients who received hemodialysis during their hospitalization are reviewed, identifying the complications that occurred during and after the procedure. Results: 58.1% of CKD patients on in-hospital hemodialysis presented some complication during or after hemodialysis, mainly cardiovascular complications (22.1%), followed by metabolic (18.6%) and infectious (16.3%); the most frequent was hypotension (24.1%), followed by cramps (19.0%), fever (17.2%), headache (13.8%) and nausea (12.1%); with a higher prevalence in patients aged 60 to over (68.4%), female (59.5%), with more than 24 months on hemodialysis (70.6%), and in those with diabetes and hypertension (75.0%). Conclusion: The presence of cardiovascular complications is more frequent during or after hemodialysis in patients with CKD.
