With the objective of studying the fear of COVID-19 in health personnel of the Regional Hospital of Loreto during the outbreak of said disease, 100 health professionals were incorporated into the present study. Methodology: It is a descriptive, observational and retrospective research. The Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S) was used. Results: Mean age of the participants 35.68 years, 70% women. The most studied professional group were nurses (40%), nursing technicians (34%) and doctors (15%). In relation to the items evaluated by the scale used, 33% of the health personnel claimed to be afraid of the coronavirus (COVID-19), 36% fear of losing their lives due to coronavirus (COVID-19). 23% are uncomfortable thinking about the coronavirus. This same figure gets nervous when reading about coronavirus on social media. 19% have their hearts racing when they think about the possibility of getting COVID-19. 15% cannot sleep when thinking about the possibility of getting infected. 10% of them sweat their hands when thinking about coronavirus. Conclusion: the intensity of fear of COVID-19 in health personnel is mild to moderate. Recommendation: we propose psychological support so that health personnel better manage the fear that they may feel when facing unknown diseases.
