Results: The level of knowledge before the nursing intervention was at an Inadequate level of 52.3%; After the intervention, the nurse obtained a high level of knowledge of 80.3%; confirming the observed mean difference of - 1.159 as significant through the Student's t value – 19.411 with a p value = 0.000. Likewise, the preventive practices before the nursing intervention were inadequate with 63.6% and after the nursing intervention, adequate practices were obtained 97.7%, confirming the difference in means of - 0.614, as significant through the Student's t value. –14.424 with a p value = 0.000; allowing the proposed hypothesis to be approved.
