The objective was to determine the non-modifiable and modifiable risk factors associated with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults treated at the IPRESS I-3 Belen in the city of Iquitos 2021. The method used was quantitative, with an epidemiological design of cases and controls. The population and sample were made up of 80 adults of both sexes from 30 to 60 years of age. The techniques were the interview and the documentary analysis, the instruments were the questionnaire of risk factors of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 had (validity 87.94% and reliability 85.35%) and the checklist to collect information from the form of patient care at IPRESS I-3 Belen. The results regarding the non-modifiable risk factors associated with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus were: age (OR = 5571); sex (OR = 2,579); race (OR = 9,333); family history of Diabetes (OR = 2,538). While the results regarding the modifiable risk factors associated with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus were: sedentary lifestyle (OR = 5,476); obesity (OR = 12,000), and type of diet (OR = 10,333). The work concluded that the non-modifiable risk factors age, sex, race and family history of Diabetes have a significant statistical association with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, likewise the modifiable risk factors sedentary lifestyle, obesity and type of diet have a significant statistical association with the Diabetes Mellitus Type 2.
