The objective of this research is to determine the prevalence of flat feet in the students of the I.E.I.P.S.M.N 6010194 MARIA SOCORRO MENDOZA MENDOZA in the city of Iquitos, district of San Juan Bautista. The research is of a basic type, with a non-experimental, qualitative design and a descriptive level. The sample consisted of 80 students between men and women aged 6 to 7 and 8 to 9 years, this pathology being more prevalent in the ages of 6 to 7 years. For data collection, the observational technique and standardized instruments such as plantigraphy (Hernández Corvo method) were used. The variables under study were; age, sex, weight, type of flat foot and degrees of flat foot. To process the data obtained, the SPSS, EXCELL programs and descriptive statistics were used. Given the process, the following results were reached; the prevalence of flat feet in the study population is 18.75%. Regarding age, it is mentioned that there is a prevalence of flat feet of 12.50% in students aged 6 to 7 years and 6.25% in students aged 8 to 9. years. In relation to the male sex, there is a prevalence of flat feet of 11.25% and 7.50% with respect to the female sex, this pathology being more prevalent in the male sex. Regarding weight, 16.25% have normal weight and 2.50% are overweight, this pathology being more prevalent in students of normal weight. In relation to the type of flat foot, 18.75% of the study population had flexible flat feet. Regarding the degree of flat feet, 53.3% resulted in 1st grade, 20% resulted in 2nd grade, 26.7% resulted in 3rd grade and no 4th grade student was detected, being more prevalent in first grade. In conclusion, the prevalence of flat feet is 15 for every 80 students evaluated. That is, 18.75% if they have flat feet and 81.25% do not have this pathology. For this reason, it is recommended to carry out more studies in our city (urban areas) and in rural areas to make comparisons with the results of future research, give educational talks to parents to detect this pathology in time in their children, and thus arrive at a treatment. adequate, carry out screening campaigns for flat feet, workshops on physiotherapeutic management permanently in the most vulnerable areas of our city for timely diagnosis, carry out constant physical activity in children who are in the development stage and even more so in the ages that were seen that there is a higher prevalence of flat feet in this study, treat children with flat feet detected with this research.
