This descriptive correlational research with a non-experimental design, aimed to determine the “Characteristics in the hardened state of cement-sand concrete made with 5 brands of Portland cement type I, respectively, and their relationship with the compressive strength evaluated at the 7, 21 and 28 days of curing”; for which purpose sand with a fineness modulus of 1.31 was used; a single w/c ratio = 0.60 and a mixture for f´c= 210kg/cm2. The average resistance results achieved after 28 days of curing were 330kg/cm2, 286kg/cm2, 281kg/cm2, 284kg/cm2 and 374kg/cm2 for the mixtures prepared with APU type GU, Amazonian type GU, Inka type Ico cement. Andino Forte type MH/R and Andino Premium type I, respectively. The sample was made up of 120 specimens, the normality of the data was evaluated and the Z statistical test was applied, with a confidence level of 95%, determining that the mechanical property of compressive strength of the cement-sand concrete It differs for different brands of Portland cement; confirming the hypothesis in the sense of existence of variation in these properties according to brands of cement, corresponding to Andino Premium Type I, the best resistance at 7, 21 and 28 days of curing.
