In the present work of professional sufficiency entitled: " BEHAVIOR OF THE GEOFOAM EMBANKMENT, USED FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF AVEMENT ON SOFT SOIL IN FLOOD ZONE, PUNCHANA DISTRICT - MAYNAS 2023", it was sought to validate the use of geofoam as part of its application in works geotechnical and road engineering; specifically evaluating the embankment with geofoam filling, built as a real-scale physical model, in the thesis project: "USE OF EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE IN EMBANKMENT FOR PAVEMENT ON SOFT SOIL IN FLOODABLE ZONE DISTRICT OF PUNCHANA - MAYNAS 2019", which will be called in the present work as Geofoam Embankment. For the evaluation of the Geofoam Embankment, a superficial evaluation was carried out, identifying structural faults, as well as monitoring the vertical displacement, using the precision geometric leveling method. Sclerometer tests were carried out to determine the mortar resistance of the geofoam embankment confinement wall. The present work of professional sufficiency highlights the importance of the search for new unconventional materials such as geofoam in the construction of infrastructures, which present unique challenges in terms of resistance and durability. That's why rigorous evaluation is needed to make sure the material is suitable for use in large-scale construction projects.
