Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS and the level of condom use and preventive practices about HIV/AIDS and preventive practices in the use of condoms among military service personnel in the year 2023. Material and Methods: An observational, descriptive, correlational, prospective, quantitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental, correlational study was carried out. The population is constituted by members of the troop personnel of the Alfredo Vargas Guerra Military Fort, totaling 720 individuals with a statistically significant sample of 251 military service volunteers to evaluate the degree of knowledge, practices and adequate use of condoms for the prevention of HIV/AIDS, will be evaluated with individual questionnaires type C.A.P of HIV, a psychometric scale established by Rodrigo Vargas Ruiz in 2007. The resolution of the instrument is Likert type, being qualified with low, medium and high level. The Chi2 statistical test was used to determine the relationship between the variables. Results: in the sociodemographic factors we see that 47.4% are aged 18 to 20 years, 30.3% are aged 20 to 22 years and 22.3% are aged 22 to 24 years, regarding sexual activity, 94.0% have sex only with women, 3.2% with women and men and 2.8% do not have sexual relations. Regarding contraceptive methods, 49.0% use natural contraception, 13.5% use hormonal contraception and 37.5% use barrier methods. In the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS and condom use, 21.1% have a poor level, 60.6% a fair level and 18.3% a good level. In the level of preventive practices, 24.3% have an inadequate level and 75.7% an adequate level. In the level of condom use practice, 22.7% have a poor level, 45.0% a regular level and 32.3% an optimal level. On the association of the level of knowledge with the level of practices on HIV/AIDS prevention, out of 251, 24.3% (61) presented an inadequate level of knowledge on HIV/AIDS xvi (13.1% had a poor level, 7.6% a fair level and 3.6% a good level), 75.7% (190) presented an adequate level of knowledge on HIV/AIDS (8.0% had a poor level, 53.0% a fair level and 14.7% a good level). Regarding the level of knowledge of HIV/AIDS and condom use of the 251, 22.7% presented a poor level (where 7.2% had a poor level, 12.7% had a regular level and 2.8% a good level). Of the 113 (45.0%) presented a fair level (where 11.2% had a poor level, 27.5% had a fair level and 6.4% (16) had a good level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS and condom use. Of the (32.3%), they presented an optimal level (where 2.8% had a poor level, 20.3% had a regular level and 9.2% had good knowledge).
