The purpose of this thesis was to evaluate and enhance the data network infrastructure of the Provincial Municipality of Loreto Nauta in order to ensure its security, reliability, and operational efficiency. A comprehensive assessment of the existing infrastructure was conducted, identifying deficiencies in information security policies and vulnerabilities in the network. Based on these findings, a comprehensive improvement plan was designed and implemented, which included measures to strengthen security, improve availability, and optimize network performance. Actions such as implementing emerging technologies, training IT personnel and end-users, and updating network equipment were carried out. The results reflected a significant improvement in the security and efficiency of the data network. The implementation of additional security measures and equipment updates helped mitigate risks and ensure the protection of information assets. Additionally, training for personnel and end-users contributed to promoting a culture of information security and responsible network usage. In conclusion, the developed improvement plan provided a clear roadmap to achieve the highest standards of security and performance in the data network infrastructure of the Provincial Municipality of Loreto Nauta. This work not only addressed identified deficiencies but also laid the groundwork for effective and sustainable data network management in the future.
