General objective: Determine the sociodemographic and obstetric factors of adolescent mothers associated with anemia in the newborn of 2 Public Hospitals of Iquitos 2023. The method used was Quantitative, Descriptive, Cross-sectional, Retrospective, Case Control, Analytical, the sample was 222 RN. Results: Relating the sociodemographic factors, 85.1% of the adolescents were 15 to 18 years old, secondary school 45.9%, primary school 38.3%, 8 technical/higher school, 83.8% housewives, 55. 4% come from marginal urban areas. From 6 to 10 were single and only 4.1% had an income of over 900 soles. Of the obstetric factors, more than 50.0% had a normal nutritional status, with similar percentages in gestational age, preterm, term and post-33. 3%, 30.2% and 36.5% respectively. 4 out of 10 late clamping, 57.7% primiparous, prenatal care, less than half (48.2%) attended 6 or more controls. Relating sociodemographic factors and anemia, maternal age of 12 to 14 years is a significant risk factor for anemia, with a greater presence in the group with anemia 23 (20.7%) (OR=2.64; 95% CI = 1.19 – 5.85; p=0.014).. A significant association is evident between age and anemia. 51.4% come from rural areas, while in the group without anemia only 4.5%, (OR=3.66; 95%CI=1.12-11.96; p=0.025), that is, Newborns with anemia have 3.66 times the chance of coming from rural areas. Significance was found with the marginal urban area as a protective factor (OR=0.09; 95% CI=0.04-0.21; p=<.001). An association is verified between origin and anemia. Likewise, significance of cohabiting marital status was found as a risk factor, there is a higher percentage of cohabitants 48.6% in the group with anemia (OR=4.14; 95%CI=2.26-7.61; p=< .001), There is a 4.14 times chance of newborns having mothers with cohabiting marital status. An association between cohabiting marital status and anemia is evident. No statistical significance was found in the variables, level of education, occupation and economic income, in all cases p<0.05. Relationship between obstetric factors and anemia in the newborn, low weight in adolescents is a significant risk factor in anemia in newborns, with a presence of 56.8% (OR=8.60; 95%CI= 4.20-17.60; p<.001). A newborn xv with anemia has a 13.93 chance that his or her mother was underweight. However, mothers' overweight is a protective factor (OR=0.07; 95%CI=0.01-0.57; p=0.002), newborns with anemia have a chance of 0.07 than their mothers. have been overweight. There is an association between nutritional status and anemia. On the other hand, preterm gestational age is also a risk factor for anemia in newborns, it exceeds the percentage in the group without anemia 56.8% versus 9.9% (OR=2.44; 95%CI=1.07 -5.57; p=0.032), the chances that newborns with anemia are 2.44 that their mothers have had a preterm gestational age. While the post-term period is a protective factor for anemia in newborns with minimal impact (OR=0.00; 95% CI=0.00-0.04; p<.001). An association was demonstrated between gestational age and anemia. Late clamping of the umbilical cord constitutes a risk of anemia in newborns, with 49.5% in the group with anemia and 34.2% in the group without anemia (OR=1.89; 95%CI=1.10-3 .24; p=0.021), newborns with anemia have 1.89 times the chance that their mothers have had late clamping. The results show a relationship between umbilical clamping and anemia. Similarly, prenatal care less than 6 constitutes a significant risk of anemia in newborns (OR=9.73; 95% CI=5.26-17.98; p<.001). The association is significant between prenatal care and anemia. Regarding the parity variable, no significant evidence was found related to anemia in newborns (p>0.05). There is no association between parity and anemia. What is concluded is both demographic and obstetric factors, 8 of them have a statistically significant relationship with NB anemia, and 4 of them have no relationship with NB anemia.
