The main objective of this research is to reduce the percentage of cracking due to shrinkage in rigid pavements during the plastic phase. To achieve this, it is proposed to analyze the reinforcement of concrete through the incorporation of polypropylene fiber and micro silica, evaluating key aspects such as strength, workability, and cracking potential. This will enhance the performance of the concrete and, as a result, decrease the need for frequent repairs and maintenance. Four mix designs will be developed, incorporating different proportions of fiber and micro silica. The results obtained indicate that in all designs, the occurrence of cracks is reduced by at least 30%, with three designs achieving even better results, reducing cracks by at least 60%. The concrete modified with these additives shows a lower percentage of cracking in potential cracking tests and exhibits favorable behavior in its tensile strength. Thus, an effective reduction of cracking in rigid pavements is achieved.
