Currently, water resources are being reduced around the world and, in the construction sector, water and concrete are highly demanded materials for the development of projects. Therefore, this research had the objective of reducing the use of drinking water to make concrete incorporating plasticizer additive, in the Santa Rosa de Quives district, Canta province, Lima region. This research proposes to design three concrete mixtures with different dosages of Sikacem plasticizing additive: 0 mL, 250 mL and 500 mL per bag of cement, to then carry out tests obtaining their physical and mechanical properties. Having these data, the viability of the proposal will be evaluated in relation to water savings and its economic investment. The results of the tests and the calculated costs of each design were recorded in tables for better comparative analysis. With this, it is concluded that the incorporation of the additive increases the slump (workability) of the concrete up to 7 ½ inches, and that at 28 days the compressive strength reaches an average of 306.8 Kg/cm2, the tensile strength 36.33 Kg/cm2 and the flexural strength 44.68 Kg/cm2. Finally, it is concluded that its production cost saves up to S/.12.17 soles per cubic meter of concrete and that the use of plasticizer additive to produce concrete in the district is beneficial due to the savings in its production cost and in the improvement of its physical and mechanical properties.
