Understanding the behavior or teleconnection of climate indices and their impact on different agricultural areas allows for better prevention and management of all agricultural resources to optimize and address potential droughts or floods. The main objective was to calculate and analyze crop evapotranspiration (ETc) and its correlation with climate indices, using precipitation (P) and temperature (T) data extracted from the Majes station. A time series analysis was conducted, which included evaluating the consistency of the mean and standard deviation, as well as converting the series into stationary to facilitate analysis. Statistical techniques such as autocorrelation, linear regressions, and the calculation of Pearson's correlation coefficient were implemented using RStudio software. The results indicated that the La Niña phenomenon had a significant influence on agricultural patterns during the studied period. Additionally, the water requirements necessary for crops in this region were determined, which is crucial given the context of water scarcity facing the Majes valley. The findings underscore the importance of understanding the interactions between climatic variables and their impact on agriculture, providing a foundation for future research and water management strategies.
