Corrosion is a phenomenon that generates economic losses in industries, because it causes the deterioration of materials and risks to environmental safety, since the manufacturing of these additives generates pollution. From this, an ecological alternative is sought that can slow down oxidation and at the same time be friendly to the environment. For this reason, in this present thesis a sustainable alternative was sought using the green tea plant as an anticorrosive inhibitor, extracting its phytochemicals through the maceration method to carry out a comparative analysis of the corrosion resistance of steel by adding green tea extract.. and traditional coating. All this in order to determine if the use of the extract is capable of allowing resistance to corrosion. The tests by which the tests will be carried out will be through the salt fog chamber, which will show us the degree of corrosion, degradation due to brooding and degradation in the incision of the material. Likewise, the Textex Tape test will be carried out, which will show the roughness of the sandblasting. Finally, the adhesion by crossed section, showing the resistance of the coating. It was concluded that the roughness of the steel was optimal, obtaining results between 1.5 to 2.5 mills whose data are validated by the SSPC-SP6 standard. The corrosion degree of the probes with the addition of green tea obtained a grade 10, while with the conventional one it obtained a grade 9.
