The objective of this work is to determine the influence on the seismic responses of a 4-story hospital structure with an isolated base compared to one with an embedded base by means of the spectral modal dynamic analysis method using the NTP E0-30 of Earthquake-Resistant Design and the NTP E031 of Seismic Isolation, following the normative guidelines, of a hospital with seismic isolation; considering a seismic zone (Z3) for the case of soil study (S2). A hospital module has been evaluated, whose structure consists mainly of reinforced concrete frames with raised beams and a solid slab roof system in two directions; considering an isolation system made up of isolators and elements of the base level: beams, slabs and capitals; and a foundation slab made up of pedestals. The structural behaviour of the building under study has been assessed within the framework of the regulatory requirements of our National Building Regulations: NTE E.030 (Earthquake-resistant Design), NTE E.031 (Seismic Isolation). For the case study, a spectral dynamic modal analysis of the embedded base and isolated base of a hospital building has been carried out. Likewise, the results of the spectral analysis show that the floor drifts and the shear force at the base of the superstructure are reduced by isolating the building.
