In a context where operational efficiency is one of the main indicators of success in international markets. The present research study aims to identify the necessary strategies to face the operational extra costs in the pre-shipment of fishmeal to the Asian market caused by a deficient coordination in the operational process. The company in question is a Peruvian SME specialized in the commercialization of fishmeal, with two offices in Peru and China. To address the problem, a descriptive qualitative study was carried out in three chapters. Chapter 1 analyses the context in which the company in question operates and its importance in the Peruvian economy. It also presents the company's own information that allows for a better understanding of its behavior. Chapter 2 discusses the economic and operational relevance of the problem to be solved and reviews the background information that will allow to find suitable alternatives for the solution of the problem. Finally, chapter 3 summarizes the analysis previously carried out. The three alternative solutions proposed in the previous chapter are compared. This analysis allows the choice of the most appropriate one for the SME context. Subsequently, the implications for the company post-implementation are presented. Finally, the main conclusions of the study are presented, as well as recommendations for future research on the subject.
