This study investigates the effectiveness of the District Athletics League of Lince's talent development program, focusing on identifying and nurturing athletic talent among youth. While aiming to attract young athletes, the program faces limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient follow-up challenges. These obstacles hinder young talents from reaching the expected levels of development. This research explores the factors that impact the success of talent identification efforts and proposes strategies to enhance the program’s effectiveness. Theoretical and empirical frameworks emphasize athletic talent's multi-dimensional nature, including cognitive, psychological, physical, and experiential factors, drawing from sources such as Johnston et al. (2018). The study identifies three core dimensions: cognitive and psychological capabilities, which encompass decision-making and concentration; physical capabilities, which evaluate attributes like height, weight, and agility; and performance history, considering prior competitive experience. The study aims to outline a structured intervention model that strengthens talent development by examining these dimensions. This model would ensure young athletes receive the necessary support to reach their potential and contribute to the growth of athletics in Peru. The findings provide insights into the structural and motivational improvements needed within the Lince Athletics League, proposing a holistic and strategic approach to athletic talent identification and development that may serve as a reference for other sports leagues in similar contexts.
