The poor soil of Callao province drives new forms of design and construction. Being a commercial port city, it represents an economical alternative and the speed of construction was chosen as a viable solution to the deposits in the storage tanks. The gravel column is an environmentally friendly solution since its main component is gravel. Settlement in storage tanks is reduced using special modeling programs such as Settle 3D software. After planning, the results were analyzed and it was found that the settlements were considerably reduced since our initial minimum settlements were 1.69 cm and maximum 18.56 cm, but after placing the gravel column, a minimum settlement of 0.68 cm and maximum of 3.72 cm, which makes a big difference in the colonies. It is therefore demonstrated that the technique used, which is the gravel column, is suitable for reducing sedimentation in storage tanks in soft soils as demonstrated in this research.
