An improvement in the efficiency of the sack production process in a Peruvian micro-enterprise in the textile sector is proposed through the implementation of two pillars of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Standardized Work (SW). The research identifies problems in the production line, such as a high amount of defective products and unproductive times caused by machine failures and variability in ironing. To address these problems, autonomous and preventive maintenance methodologies were applied on key machines and work standards were established that reduced cycle times and improved quality. The results show a significant improvement in equipment efficiency and a reduction in production costs due to improved process accuracy and consistency. The proposal included a schedule of activities and an economic analysis, detailing savings in operating costs. This approach not only optimizes production, but also facilitates staff training and promotes an environment of continuous improvement. In conclusion, the application of the two pillars of TPM and Work Standardization in this textile microenterprise demonstrates the effectiveness of these methods to increase competitiveness in a labor-dependent sector and improve the company's market position.
