Peru presents a complex territorial dynamic, especially in the south of Arequipa, where geological, hydrological and climatic factors significantly affect the coast. This study focuses on the quantification of coastal transport at Bombón Point, assessing how sediments are mobilized along the coast through Landsat 5, 7 and 8 satellite images between 1985 and 2024. Images processed with the NDWI index allow the reconstruction of the historical coastline and analysis of erosion and accretion patterns. The methodology includes the use of a geographic information system (GIS) to map sedimentary displacement in 18 transects along the coastline, identifying critical areas of accretion and erosion. To complement this analysis, Copernicus Marine data and MeteoBlue wave simulations are integrated, generating thematic maps of wave variables and currents that show the relationship between coastal transport and wave conditions. These maps confirm that wave direction and energy influence sedimentary dynamics, with particularly intense erosion in transects 3, 6, 8, 12 and 17. The results also reflect the geological instability of the region, where sedimentary and volcanic rock formations affect soil stability. The study highlights the importance of continuous monitoring and adaptation of infrastructure in vulnerable areas. In addition, it is recommended to implement coastal zoning plans to mitigate the erosive effects, providing a solid basis for management and conservation of the coast of Arequipa in the face of climate change.
