The present research project presents as main problem, the low availability in the machining line in warehouse 3 of a metal-mechanic company that presents an availability of 52%, this value is lower than the standard availability of 90%. The problem is caused by various factors that occur in the machining line, such as excessive unproductive times due to processes, routine stops, lack of standardized procedures for sharpening tools, calibration of machinery, lack of adequate preventive maintenance, among others. The motivation of the authors of this research is to improve the availability indicator of the machining process of ship 3. The economic impact generated is linked to staff overtime, among other expenses that represent 4% of the annual turnover. The main contribution of the research is the design of the Lean Manufacturing tools proposal. The design of the proposal is made up of inputs and outputs involved in the problem, it will be managed through the availability indicator of which the tool that will be implemented to improve its level are the Lean Manufacturing tools, which in turn have components such as SMED, TPM, process standardization
